Today is the 31st and final day of NaBloPoMo March 2008. Though I have been blogging here everyday this month, I kinda lost focus in the third week due to my work commitments.
What this experience taught me:
For those committing to April’s theme — all the best! I will try to find time to check your all blogs out!

How you present yourself can directly affect the way people think of you. Here are some of the lessons I learnt over the years.

(Stylish Carmen, Edgy Christian, Cool Kit from Project Runway)
On the other hand, it could also mean that I looked like him:

(Flamboyant, Colourful, Crazeh? By the way, I love Chris, he’s such a great character)
In any case, it was the way I presented myself that influenced the exec’s decision. I was barely 20 and inexperienced, yet because of the way I dressed, I got the opportunity to network with a lot of people, contacts that proved useful in my career later. Lesson: Don’t come to work looking like you’ve been rolling around in dirt.
After looking at the cute stuff from Re-Ment, I found myself craving for a lot of things. The sad thing is, I got myself a lot of junk food and ate them in one sitting:
1 garlic butter bread
1 bowl instant noodles
1 coffee-filled chocolate bar
3 slices of white bread with chocolate spread
1 bag of salted nuts
6 Mentos
1 can of Pringles chips (oh oh!)
Not too proud of myself. I’m having a bit of a tummy ache. I wonder why…

My favourite answers from “Kids’ Answers to Life’s Big Questions” by Steve & Ruth Bennett.

Today, happiness is:
Seeing my little cat falling asleep in the middle of playing with a measuring tape
Warm coffee that tastes like golden sunshine, sweet cinnamon and roasted chestnuts
Squeezing the tummy of my fat cat, who was asleep on its back
My room resplendent in the rich glow of a warm morning

Things accomplished this week:
Moved to a new server - after many, many frustrating down times (5 times a week?!! Unacceptable!)
Changed to a 3-column layout - aah much better… my sidebar was getting a bit too long
Fixed the comment bug - there was a bug in the 3-column format.
Wrote 5 posts based on the theme “Entertainment”
I’m inspired by Lady S‘ list of Happy Things. I’ve read the same book — 14,000 Things to be Happy About — some time ago. I do have similar lists, but they are written over multiple entries in my blogs and numerous sketchbooks, so maybe it’s time to put them all in one list. I’m also thinking of tackling the top 100 movies of all time. But which from list? AFI? Time? Rotten Tomatoes?

Cats (my own and in general)
The Office (both the British and American versions)
Oprah
Project Runway
Heroes (I hope season 3 is good)
America’s Next Top Model (heh…)
Tonight Show with Jay Leno
THE INTERNETS

Have a good Friday and enjoy the weekend!

Quiz time. Which one of the people on this list was supposedly referred to as “Britain’s first Asian rock star”? Which one was featured in my post here? Who are the rest?
Robert Van Winkle
John Francis Bongiovi Jr.
Stacy Ann Ferguson
Charles Hardin Holley
Demetria Guynes
Farrokh Bulsara
Nicolas Kim Coppola
Alecia Moore
David Robert Jones
Brian Hugh Warner
Robert Alan Zimmerman

Hello again. Are you feeling bored?
Here’s a short list of websites I visit to get my dose of entertainment:
Giant Step - is where I go to discover new artists. There are a lot of high-quality music tracks that you could listen for free here.
BBC Music - Informative site with a comprehensive guide to music.
Rotten Tomatoes - I wouldn’t watch a movie before checking out its Rotten Tomatoes rating.
Readprint - If you’re like me and like to seek entertainment within the pages of a book(or rather webpages of the internet) this website will be great for you. There’s a massive collection of classics that you can read online like Pride and Prejudice, The Animal Farm and the best of Shakespeare.
Youtube - But of course! I could waste hours jumping from one mindless video to another. It’s the best thing since sliced bread!
I am bored - The names says it all. Links to stuff to do when you are bored.
Nitrome - The cutest pixel games on the net. Warning: Be prepared to waste hours on this website.

Desert Island Tuesday is inspired by Desert Island Discs. I imagine myself a castaway on a desert island and am allowed to have a few items with me, based on the theme for the week. This week theme is Entertainment.

Hello again from a warm, tropical island! I’ve been eating a lot of make-believe fish and rice the past week. The monkeys have been entertaining me with their silly tricks but I think I’m getting tired of the same routine. Luckily this week’s Entertainment week so I’m allowed to order a couple of discs online. My top 3 music albums and movies are listed below. Enjoy!
Albums
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles - Quintessential album with everything - catchy positivity(It’s Getting Better) and epic masterpiece (A Day in the Life)
The Great Escape by Blur - Full of happy tunes and sweet memories of my teen years
Life in Cartoon Motion by Mika - Love Today! Lollipop! Relax! Happy Ending! You can’t go wrong with this.
Movies
Amélie - Beautiful, triumphant, quirky, special, funny, charming. A feel-good movie I could just watch over and over again.
Lost in Translation - Loneliness. Strangers. Foreign country. Kinda like being on a desert island.
Labyrinth - David Bowie dancing his magic dance…in tights. INSTANT WIN?!!
